(Orange, TX) The greatest family musical of all time, The Wizard of Oz, is touching down in Orange at the Lutcher Theater October 14, 2018, 7:00 p.m. This magical production is a celebration of the 1939 MGM movie that will take audiences over the Rainbow and into the Land of Oz, complete with munchkins and flying monkeys. The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow in this lavish production, featuring stunning choreography, elaborate costumes and classic songs.

Audiences young and old, seeing it for the first time or the fifth, will be dazzled by the brightly colored sets and breathtaking special effects. Featuring the classic songs, as composed by

Harold Arlen, “Over the Rainbow,” “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” and “If I Only Had A Brain,” along with the beloved characters, The Wizard of Oz, will mesmerize audiences from the moment the twister touches down.

Patrons attending The Wizard of Oz, are encouraged to participate in the Lutcher Theater

Costume Drive by bringing new or gently used costumes to the show. Community members can drop off costumes at the theater during office hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.There is an orange box and costume rack in the first floor lobby to place costumes. All donations will benefit Treat-It-Forward, a local non-profit organization that provides free Halloween costumes to children in need around Southeast Texas.
