(ORANGE, TX) – The Nelda C. & H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation is pleased to release the 2018 W.H. Stark House Holiday Tour schedule.  Tours will be available on the nine open days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The House will be decorated for the season and feature festive tableware, garland, and other holiday decorations. Tours include all three floors of the main house, which stands much as it did at the turn of the 20thcentury with fifteen rooms of original family furnishings, personal effects, and decorative arts.
Tours are free, but require an on-line reservation. Anyone interested in reserving a tour slot can do so at www.whstarkhouse.org starting November 1st.
Tours begin every 45 minutes and can accommodate a maximum of 7 people. Participants must be at least six years old and able to walk up and down 44 steps to take a house tour. For safety reasons, parents may not carry infants or younger children on the tour.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy the Carriage House during any of the holiday tour dates. Highlights include a decorated Model T Truck, self-guided exhibits on the second floor, and an area to decorate your own stocking and make a family tree. Story time, featuring Christmas stories the Stark family read when they lived in the house, will take place each day at 2pm.
Stark Foundation President and CEO Clyde “Tad” McKee expresses his excitement “to have the House open and available to the public for multiple days during the Holiday season.”
2018 Holiday Dates: November 23, 24, & 25 and December 1-2, 8-9, 15-16
In addition to the Holiday schedule, The W.H. Stark House will be open the 2nd Friday and Saturday of each month throughout 2019.
