The woman affectionately known as the "First Lady of Bridge City" has died. Shirley Roccaforte, wife of Mayor Kirk Roccaforte and a business owner in Bridge City, passed away Monday morning at her home. She was 67. Shirley, although the wife of an elected official, was equally well known in her own right for her strong sense of fairness, her "straightforward" opinion, love of animals, sense of humor and colorful vocabulary.
