Frank Jeffers, 84, of Vidor died Friday, Jan. 29, at his residence. A native of Brookedale, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He played baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers for 16 years. He was a heavy equipment operator and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The City of Orange has temporarily halted the purchase of the First Financial Bank building and the City Hall move, and the hearing scheduled for Feb. 2, in the pending lawsuit against the City of Orange has been moved to March 2.
