    John Elywin Haure, 74, of Colmesneil passed away peacefully on Jan. 31. Born Oct. 20, 1940 in Beaumont, to the late C. John and Emma Beasley Haure, he lived in Bridge City, before moving to Colmesneil many years ago. He was a retired mechanic for the Bridge City Independent School District and served as a Deputy Constable for Orange County Constable Pct. #3 for 10 years.     UPDATE - The name of the 34 year old man from Kirbyville who died is Jason Murray Smith. The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3. It remains unknown what caused Smith’s death and no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing and more information may be released as it becomes available.     The reward for Jerry Don Holmes, 43, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender and this month’s featured fugitive, has been increased to $8,000 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of February.     Lamar Institute of Technology has received $61,000 from the 2014-2015 Smith-Hutson Scholarship Program. These funds will be distributed to 16 students enrolled in academic programs at LIT and used for tuition, books, supplies, mileage, housing and meal plans.
