Minnie Merle Ashworth, 86, of Bridge City, died Thursday, Feb. 4. She was born on July 21, 1928, in Bon Wier, to Imelda Dougherty Boyett and George Boyett. Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School’s Powerlifting team, Bear Iron, took top scores at the Silsbee meet on Thursday, Feb. 5. The Boys team finished in First Place, with 50 points and the Girls team won Second with 32 points.
