The National Weather Service is tracking a cold front moving across the region as of 3:00 pm. Behind the front, temperatures are dropping into the 40s this afternoon with strong northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts of 30 to 40 mph. The bigger problem, however, is as temperatures fall at or below 32 F, wet areas on elevated roads and bridges could freeze over. On Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at 8:40 am, I was dispatched to 1010 S. Highway 87, in reference to sexual assault of a child. Officers met with a CPS agent in charge of the case. CPS stated that the 7 year old child made an outcry to a teacher at Bridge City Elementary, that she had been sexually assaulted. The teachers notified CPS via phone that day. Officers and the CPS agent met with the child's mother at her apartment. Further information has not been released....

Saturday, Feb. 14, at about 3:18 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a stranded boater. The caller stated that he and his partner were from Minnesota and were pre-fishing the upcoming Elite Series Bass Tournament in March.They had gone off the main river channel and were trying to reach a location he saw on his Google map.
