    The Bridge City Public Library has just received a gift of 100 new children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers. These books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City, interested in fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together.     Lula Mae “Hebert” Schexnider, 88, of Bridge City, TX passed away February 24, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Commonground Church in Bridge City, TX. She donated her body to the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.     The Garth House, Mickey Mehaffy Children’s Advocacy Program recently held their 22nd Annual Penny Drive. St. Mary Catholic School collected “Change for Children” during January and February for this event. This is an example of “Kids Helping Kids”.     Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Engineering students traveled to the Beaumont Event Centre for Junior Achievement's Engineering Job Shadow Lunch.
