    Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School’s Team Force came ready to play today, as they held their annual basketball game against the Nederland Dynamo Dogs. Having lost the last three years, the team was determined to bring home the trophy, and that they did with a 28 to 20 victory against the Dogs. Fellow classmates cheered the team on and the encouragement, determination and coaching from some of the varsity basketball team, carried the day. Dr. Jim Armstrong officiated the game....

    Jim F. Jonas, 76, of Nederland died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at The Medical Center in Port Arthur. Jim was a native and lifelong resident of the Nederland area. Jim attended Grace Community Church in Vidor and retired from Iron Workers local union #135. He served his country in the US Air Force and was 1960 graduate from Bridge City High School.     The Orangefield softball team traveled to Sabine Pass tonight and defeated the Lady Sharks 14-0 in 5 innings. Kaylee Ancelot went 5 innings giving up 1 hit with 9 strikeouts.
