     The Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund has awarded a $60,000 one-year grant to the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program to increase awareness of the life-saving benefits of early detection of breast cancer and facilitate the provision of free mammograms to medically underserved women in Southeast Texas.     Julius Benton, 85, of Bridge City, Texas passed away, March 11, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Julius was born in Ochlocknee, Georgia on October 11, 1922. Julius served in WW II in the U.S. Army from 1940-1944 as a tank commander in the European Theater.
