Every Wednesday St. Mary Catholic Church hosts the Soup Kitchen at the parish hall for the community. This soup kitchen is organized by Johnny and Glenda Lucia, volunteers and parishioners. The Lucias are graduates of St. Mary Catholic School. They graduated when the school still included a high school. They have lived out their Christian faith throughout their lives. Each morning students and staff gather in the gym of St. Mary Catholic School for prayers, pledges and announcements. Dr. Cynthia Jackson, Principal, begins with prayers and a reflexion. Next the classes and different school organizations take turns leading the pledges to the American and Texas flags, the school's honor code then the school song. The LCM Bear Varsity Tennis team competed at the Ms. Sheila Invitational Tournament held at Lamar University on Friday, March 31st. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville family is broken hearted at the loss of one of our Mauriceville Elementary students. There will be additional counselors on campus for any children or staff who need to speak to them.
