Jack Penn Jude Patten, 19, lifelong resident of Orange passed away Sunday, April 1. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Melvin Payne of St. Mary Catholic Church. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:30 p.m. to service time on Thursday. Charles Henry Holt, 81, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, April 2, in Beaumont. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont with the Rev. The Bridge City Lady Cardinals track team thrilled the home crowd with a first place finish Saturday, March 31 at the Cardinal Relays at Larry Ward Stadium at Bridge City High School. Led by senior star Bree Fontenot, the Lady Cardinals edged out Nederland with 114 points to 113. She won both the 400 meters in 61.71 seconds and 1,600 meters with a time of 5:38.97. The Strutters attended the American Dance National competition this past weekend at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The officers earned second runner-up overall in medium team category. They won National Champions in novelty and first runner-up in open and modern.
