Donnie McDonald, 56, of Vidor died Saturday, April 11, at Baptist of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Orange, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Donnie was the Safety Supervisor for Brand Energy and Infrastructure Solutions for over 12 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor where he was very active and was a sunday school teacher and a director for the Royal Ambassadors. Rythm and Blues singer Percy Sledge died today in Baton Rouge at the age of 73 according to his agent. Sledge, who was an Alabama native, was most known for his classic 1966 number one hit "When a Man Loves a Woman", died after a kengthy battle with cancer.
