      The West Orange-Stark High School Journalism team led their classmates, capturing nine places at the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Battlin’ Bear UIL Academic Practice Meet recently. Shonnalee Jacobs took first place honors in news writing. She was also third in headline writing; while Alayna Jacobs was second in the same event.     Once a Bridge City Cardinal place kicker, Matt Bryant, became a Southeast Texas legend Saturday. A kicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bryant was inducted into the Museum of the Gulf Coast, in the museum Sports Hall of Fame. To make the event sweeter Bryant served as grand marshall for the 2009 Port Arthur Mardi Gras Parade the same day.
