A smash and grab robbery was thwrated by an Orange County Deputy Sherriff this weekend. Cpl. Andrew Hollier was on patrol at 2:45 am. on Friday in the 11000 block of Highway 12 in Mauriceville when he saw a white Chevrolet pickup truck topped in front Star Stop Convenience Store. A Vidor store clerk was arrested on May 17 for selling bath salts and synthetic marijuana, according to information from the Orange County Sheriff's Office. In October of 2011, the Orange County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted an undercover operation targeting several primary locations that were actively engaging in the county wide distribution of synthetic marijuana and bath salts.
