Paul Spears, 74, of Mauriceville, passed away Monday, July 6, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Born Jan. 3, 1941 in Deweyville, to Nolan William Spears and Grace (Fountain) Spears, he lived in Mauriceville since 2005 and had previously lived in Crystal Beach. He worked as a process operator at Honeywell in Orange. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Deweyville. Monday, July 6, around 10:10 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call about an unresponsive male at Rescar Industries located at 1993 Foreman Road. When Deputies arrived, they discovered that one of the workers was found unresponsive inside of a tank car by another employee.
