Patsy Ruth Evans Flanagan, 75, of Orange passed away Sunday, July 14, at her home. She was born Ja. 30, 1938 in Henderson, to Van Dale and Ella Mae (Jeans) Evans. She graduated Stark High School in 1956, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Flanagan was also a member at the VFW for 30 years and was a ToPs member. A 34-year-old Port Neches man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today. Jeremiah Paul Selman pleaded guilty on Mar. 21, to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone. The Newton County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Joshua Latham, 26, of Mauriceville, on charges of murder. Latham is accused of murdering 41-year-old Tami Higginbotham, of Vinton, La. He faces up to 99 years in prison for the first degree felony.
