David “Cooney” Haynes, Sr., 81, of Nederland, died Sunday, Aug. 30. He was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Honey Island, to Elsie Flower and Ernie Haynes. David retired from Texaco after 25 years of service. Master Gardeners to hold business meeting The September meeting of the Orange County Master Gardeners Association has been changed to be on Monday, Sept. 14, instead of the usual second Thursday of the month, only for this month.
