    Hartburg Charles Westly Hofford, 58, of Hartburg, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 23. A memorial celebrating Charles' life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Dorman's Funeral Home in Orange. A lifelong resident of the Orange area, he is preceded in death by his mother, Melva Hofford, of Hartburg.   • Tree accident kills Orangefield resident

    On Tuesday Nov. 29, at approximately 4:10 p.m. the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call concerning a tree that had fallen and struck a person in the 13000 block of Duncan Woods Lane in Orangefield. Upon arrival Deputies learned that the victim, Mr. Edwin Worthy, a 70 year old Orangefield resident was cutting a large tree on a neighbor's property for firewood.     Pinehurst is on the move. City offices will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week to move into the new location of Pinehurst City Hall at 2497 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
