Orangefield school Superintendent Dr. Shaun McAlpin presented Haylee Spears with a special recognition for designing this year's Christmas card that the school district is sending. Spears is a student at Orangefield High School. Card design winners at the other schools were Madeline Breaux from the junior high and Scarlett Root from the elementary school. The Bridge City ISD Service Center won the Mayor's Trophy in the Chamber of Commerce's annual lighted Christmas parade last Saturday. The Mayor's Trophy goes for the best showing of the theme, which was Christmas on the Bayou. A decorated school bus pulled replicas of bayou creatures. Actress Frances Fisher, who grew up in Orange and is a graduate of Stark High, reunited last week with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCapprio, at the premier of Winslet's latest film. First Saturday of First Baptist Church Bridge City will be giving away food items for Thanksgiving Saturday the 2nd of November.
