    The Orange County Livestock Show Association is sponsoring the Showdown on the Sabine show for youth and their animals on Saturday, August 17, at the T2 Arena, 3810 Old Peveto Road. Check-in time is 4 p.m. and show time is 7 p.m. The entry fee is $30 and $10 for the showmanship category. Youth will compete according to four different age groups.   • Entries open for BC Golf Cart Glo Parade

    The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce has opened applications to enter the Golf Cart Glo Parade to be held as part of the Hot Air Balloon Glo Festival on Saturday, September 14. The golf cart parade is open to golf carts, ATVs, or four-wheelers that will be decorated with lights or glowing features. There is no charge for entering. Entrants must be a minimum age of 16 with a valid driver's license. Passengers who are younger may ride if accompanied by a parent or guardian.     The Bridge City City Council last week honored the winners of the art scholarship contest held as part of the Red, White, and You Celebration earlier this month. Local businesses donated the money for the scholarships.
