Orangefield opened its run in the post season with two impressive wins over the Pollok Central Bulldogs. The Bridge City Cardinals have advanced to the second round of the state baseball playoffs in Class 4A. The Cardinals made short work of the Splendora Wildcats sweeping them in two games. The second event in the SALT Pro Redfish series took place this past weekend under less than ideal conditions. While most local fishermen stayed at the house cutting grass or taking care of other chores 28 teams decided to brave the high winds and take a shot at cashing a check from the 7000.00 prize pot. The Orangefield boys' golf team is going back to state after finishing in second place at the Regional Golf Tournament held April 20-21 in Brenham. The Bobcats actually had the top two golfers with brothers Xander Parks and Lincoln Parks shooting the two lowest scores during the two-day tournament.
