    The girls Texas state powerlifting competition was held Friday, March 17, in Frisco. Bridge City's Hallie Bearden is the state champion in the 114-pound weight class. Bearden lifted a total of 820 pounds in the three powerlifting categories. Hallie squatted 295 pounds, benched 195 pounds, and deadlifted 330 pounds to capture first place.
