The fishing team of Tony Viator and Jeremy Reeves took first place in the first round of the Sabine Redfish Series Fishing Tournament held on Saturday. The event was hosted at High Tides Restaurant and Marina on Cow Bayou in Bridge City. Viator and Reeves brought in a three string redfish stringer weighing 22.77 pounds for a first place for sponsor Texas County Inspection. My guess turned out to be true on the improved numbers at the district meets although the weather is still far from the normal heat that traditionally graces the state meet. Trystin Chapman, 15 yrs old, currently homeschooled but is part of the Bridge City High School fishing team. The Texas Amateur Golf Championship is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf tournaments in Texas. Wednesday, LC-M Bear, and future Texas State Bobcat, Jack Burke played in the sectional qualifier where three exemptions were on the line for a spot in the 112th Texas Amateur Championship.
