Margaret “Pug” Scales Granger

Margaret “Pug” Scales Granger, 79, of Orange, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 at The Meadows in Orange.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m.

Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Reverend Dale Vance and Reverend Forrest Wood officiated.

Graveside services and Interment followed in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis community of Orange.

Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m.

Thursday at the funeral home.

Born on November 12, 1928 in Orange, Texas to A. A. “Jiggs” and Katie Mae (Burke) Scales, she was a lifelong resident of Orange, enjoyed spending time with her family and was notably known for her banana pudding recipe.

Mrs. Granger is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Nelda Evans; her brother, Clyde Scales; and her brothers-in-law, James “Cotton” Evans and Bennie Peveto.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Neal “Buddy” Granger, Sr.

of Orange; daughter, Lynda K. Granger and husband Robert of Orange; sons, Joe Neal “Rusty” Granger, Jr.

and wife Judy, Roland W. “Rocky” Granger, Sr.

and wife Anne and Barry M.Granger and wife Pamela all of Orange; sisters, Doris Peveto of Orangefield, Geneva Mancil of Orange, Jeanette Bullion and husband Ronnie of Orangefield; brother, Franklin Scales and wife Sarah of Orangefield; sister-in-law, Marjorie “Tootsie” Scales of Orangefield; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers were Jeff Granger, Bobby Granger, Bubba Granger, Chris Granger, Adam Granger and Stephen Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Wilson and Brent Swanton.
