Joseph Eddie Johnson I, 85, of Orange passed away Monday, February 4, 2008, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Phelan. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.
Eddie was born April 26, 1922, the son of Osmond and Mathilda (Reed) Johnson.
Eddie served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Owens-Illinois where he was supervisor in the pulp department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Kathleen Johnson and son, Joseph “Joey” Eddie Johnson II.
He is survived by his children, Bernadette Dennin of Orange, Carmen McGill and husband James of Orange, David Johnson and wife Linda of Houston and Cynthia Bates and Gary Reeh of Orange, daughter in law, Kendall Johnson of Florida; grandchildren, April Kagle, Krystal LeBeouf, Joey Wilkes, Zoe Turner, Adam Johnson, Lee Johnson and Jamie Hofford; and nine great grandchildren.
