Shirley A. Taylor Cormier

Shirley A. Cormier, 58, of Groves passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at her home with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 28 at the United Pentecostal Church of Bridge City with Rev. J. W. Harrell, officiating.

Entombment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 3 p.m.

to 8 p.m.

at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.

She was born in Lafayette, La.

on Oct. 12, 1949 to Eugenie Stelly Taylor and Gervais Taylor Sr.

She was the owner and operator of Cormier Insurance Agency for over years.

Cormier was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church of Bridge City, where she taught Sunday School and was on the Pre-Teen Staff at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenie and Gervais Taylor.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Cormier Martin and husband Steve of Groves, Jenny Cormier of Port Neches; her son, Lonnie J. Cormier Jr.

and wife Celeste of Port Acres; her grandchildren, Aubrie Martin, Seth Martin, Beau Martin, Madeleine Cormier and one grandson on the way, Vincent Cormier.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. Howard (Louise) Latiolais of Breaux Bridge, La.

and Mrs. Jessie (Elsie) Hebert of Porter; and her brothers, Gervais Taylor and Jessie Taylor both of Arnaudville, La., Avie Taylor and Leland Taylor both of Breaux Bridge, La.

and her foster brother, V. J. Brock of Oklahoma City, Okla.; along with several nieces and nephews.
