Nancy Burton Mitchell, 63, of Orange , passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur .  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the First Pentecostal Church in Starks. Officiating will be Reverend Greg Frazier, pastor. Interment will follow at the

Doyle Cemetery in Starks. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the church. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange . Born

on August 12, 1944 in Orange , Texas to Arthur and Flavia (Ayo) Burton

, she was a lifelong resident of the Orange area, a loving and devoted

mother and grandmother and she enjoyed cooking, dancing and spending

time with her family. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Mitchell,

Sr.; sons, Johnny Mitchell and Gary Hebert and her three brothers. Those

who will most cherish her memory are her son, Chris G. Johnson and wife

Melissa of Hornbeck, Louisiana; daughters, Gina McCarver and husband

Tommy of Orangefield and Stacey Burns of Orange; brother, Ronald

Burton, Sr. and wife Grace of Orange; grandchildren, Scott Rushing,

Alli Rushing, Kyle Johnson, Troy Johnson, Tommy McCarver, Jr., Lauren

McCarver, Lindsey McCarver, Alaina McCarver, Eric Burns, Brooke Burns

and Brandon Burns. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Odyssey Healthcare Hospice, Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Joseph Savignano and Roy Mazzagate for their assistance, care and prayers for Nancy during her final days.
