Harold Burton Simar, 86, of Orange, passed away on June 21, 2008 in Lafayette, La.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 23 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Joseph P. Daleo. Interment followed at St. Mary’s cemetery.
Born March 19, 1922, in Iota, La., to Mathias and Cora Lee (Prather) Simar, Mr. Simar was a Navy and WWII veteran. He retired after 31 years of service as an operator from DuPont Sabine River Works.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Cora Simar; two brothers and one sister, Roy Simar, Ivan Simar, and Sister Bernice Simar.
Survivors include his nephews, Ronnie Simar and wife Janice of Scott, La.; John Keith Simar of Orange and one niece, Norma Gaye Campbell and husband Glenn, also of Orange.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Campbell, Ronnie Simar, Andrew Simar, Alec Savoy, Tyler Savoy and Sharon Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are John Keith Simar and Ricky Roy.
