Richardson’s volunteer efforts include: the Red Cross at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital 2008, working with displaced children from Hurricane Katrina and rebuilding projects for Hurricane Ike.
She also works in the Community Church nursery every Sunday morning. Richardson has been in dance since she was two years old and has taught tap to elementary age children.
Judy Klein, SLI director and chapel coordinator, Community Christian School, says Haley is a lovely young lady inside and out and a joy to teach. Judy also says that even though Haley’s home was damaged and the dance studio she attended for many years was damaged by Hurricane Ike and not reopening, it has not discouraged her from doing her best academically. Haley plans to attend Sam Houston State to study nursing, with future plans to specialize in labor and delivery.
Haley was recognized by Mary McKenna, chairperson of the GOACC Education Committee and by other members of the chamber. She received gift certificates from GOACC and Independent Cosmetologist Misty Bornholdt-Winder, a drink of choice from the Jumping Bean, a gift basket from Heaven Sent and a gift bag with an MP3 player from Lamar-Orange.
