Bridge City High School will present the “Making Your College Search Count” program in the school cafeteria from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. March 26. This program provides 11th-graders with crucial information on how to conduct an effective college search and selection. The program covers every aspect of the college search from visiting schools to the application process and provides students with a working plan that makes the process of choosing a college more manageable.
Additionally, the program “ Making College & Career Count” will be presented the same day from 9 to 10 a.m. to 12th-graders. This program is designed to help students begin to think about their next steps upon graduation and what they need to accomplish throughout the upcoming years in order to maximize their opportunities for future success. The program also addresses important issues such as time management, choosing career paths, gaining experience through internships and meaningful work experience and study skills.
“Making It Count” will offer one national $5,000 one-time award scholarship, and five regional $1,000 one-time award scholarships to high school seniors who have taken part in the “Making College and Career Count” presentation through June 12, and who can exhibit excellence based on the “Winning Characteristics” highlighted in the program.
Parents are welcome to attend both programs.
