Reginald T. Franklin, 88, of Orange, died Monday, April 6, 2009, in Pinehurst Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.
Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Trinkle, chaplain of Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City.
Reginald was born on July 16, 1920, in LaSalle, La., son of Joseph Edgar Franklin and Frances Ethel Volentine Franklin. He was an operator for DuPont and served in the Navy during World War II as an instrument flight instructor. He was an avid gardener and was also a member of the master gardeners of Orange.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mae Franklin; sons, Reginald Davis Franklin of Beaumont, Cecil Dennis Franklin of Orange; daughter, Jo Ann Franklin of Moss Bluff, La.; brothers, Sherrill Franklin of Onalaska, Texas; Melvin Franklin of Bridge City; sisters, Ava Franklin Caraway of Kelly, La., and Billie Vincent of Orange.
Pallbearers will be Billy Coleman, Bobby Carmack, Alex Leal, Kelvin Caraway, Jimmy Franklin, Kenneth Franklin and Jody Crump.
