Orange James Patrick Sheehan, 78, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2009 in Corpus Christi after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Claybar Funeral Home on Friday, April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited by Deacon Melvin Payne at 7 p.m.
A long time resident of Orange, Jim was born on April 1, 1931 in Belleville, Ill. to Charles M. and Grace F. Sheehan. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1953. During his many years in Orange he was employed by the Equitable Bag Co., Livingston Shipbuilding and is retired from the J.M. Huber Co.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Guidry Sheehan; sisters, Mary E. Schorr, Catherine E. Godwin and Jo Ann Bergadine; brothers, Charles M. Sheehan Jr, and John B. Sheehan.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas E. Sheehan and wife Peggy of Fairview Heights, Ill.; son, Patrick Sheehan and wife Andrea of Houston; daughter, Sharlene Eastman and husband Dan of Corpus Christi; and grandchildren Dylan Sheehan, Diana Sheehan and Joshua Sheehan.
