Gospel singing scheduled The public is invited to gospel singing at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, at New Anointing Church, which is located at 10681 N. Hwy 87.  Bring a song on tape, CD, musical instruments or be accompanied by musicians.

Refreshments will follow the singing.

Revival The Rev. Marvin Gorman will speak at a revival May 16-18 at First Assembly of God, 201 Roberts Ave. in Bridge City (turn at the Subway restaurant off of Texas Avenue).

Times are 7 p.m.

Saturday through Monday and 10:45 a.m.

National Day of Prayer The Bridge City / Orangefield Ministers’ Alliance invites the public to the Bridge City City Hall courtroom, 260 Rachal Ave., from noon to 1 p.m.

Thursday to observe the National Day of Prayer.

Former President Ronald Reagan fixed the day on the first Thursday in May, after being established in 1775 by the Continental Congress.

Also, the annual National Day of Prayer event sponsored by county employee Vickie Landry will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Thursday at the courthouse steps off of Division Avenue.

Women’s conference Power of Praise Christian Center, 1311 N. 10th St., will host its Women’s Conference 2009 Wednesday thorugh Saturday.

Worship begins at 7 p.m.

nightly, with “one hour of pampering” featured at 6 p.m.

The workshop starts at 10 a.m.

with lunch at 1 p.m.

Meet the candidates Greater St. Paul Christian Fellowship Church will host a Meet the Candidates Night at 6 p.m., Thursday at 1704 N. 14th St. in Orange.

It will be an open forum for candidates seeking office for Orange City Council and School Board in Saturday’s election.
