Symptoms send Total workers to hospital, plant investigates

An investigation is underway at Total Refinery in Port Arthur to determine if there is a leak at the plant, after several workers complained about shortness of breath around 8:15 this morning.

Three refinery workers were taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. 

“We haven’t isolated it yet to see if it’s a particular area of the plant or if there has been a leak,” responded Pat Avery, Total spokeswoman.

The Port Arthur Police nor Fire Department have been called to the scene.
