Elderly woman rescued from house fire

When Little Cypress and Pinehurst Fire Departments responded to a fire at 750 S. Teal Road in Orange, Tuesday, they found Marjorie Bilbo, 80, on the floor unconscious.

Bilbo had called 911 around 1:18 p.m., Tuesday, reporting her home was on fire. She was instructed to leave the residence. When firefighters arrived about three minutes later, they found Bilbo on the floor at the rear of her home,  unconscious.

Life saving procedures were deployed on Bilbo. She was stabilized and transported to Baptist Hospital-Orange by ambulance where she is currently listed in stable condition on a ventilator.

The origin and cause of the fire is being investigated. Arson does not appear to be a factor in this case.
