Pinehurst Police get new Charger

Pinehurst Chief of Police Fred R. Hanauer III unveiled the latest addition to his fleet of cars; a black 2009 Dodge Charger.  The vehicle was purchased with funds seized from drug dealers. The car is the first of several more to follow including an interdiction unit to further fight the war on drugs.

The blue, reflective graphics contribute to officer safety by helping the car to be more visible at night. Inspired by the Alsip Police department in Illinois, the design was suggested to Hanauer by Officer Leonard Roff.

“I like the unique and modern design and believe it exemplifies what Pinehurst stands for; not only as a police department, but the city as a whole,”Hanauer said.

The new patrol car was transported from the dealership in Dallas back to Pinehurst on a 53 foot wedge auto hauler trailer owned by Pinehurst Police Investigator Keith Reneau. Reneau is also the owner/operator of Cole Performance LLC. He donated his time and services for the transportation of the vehicle.
