Texas Exes honor Judge Clark

Feb. 11 is the exact day 30 years ago that Patrick Clark, Orange County 128th District Court Judge, was sworn-in by former Judge Graham Bruce.

This year Clark will be honored Feb. 11 by the Orange County Texas Exes, a group dedicated to support the University of Texas, with a new scholarship in his name.

The event will be at the Orange County Texas Exes Will Muschamp Scholarship Fundraising Dinner, set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Sunset Grove Country Club. Deadline for reservation payments is Thursday. For tickets, call Ann Seals at 779-8330 or Susan Swan at 883-9875. 

The Judge Patrick A. Clark Endowed Academic Scholarship is also made possible by the Beaumont Foundation. The endowed scholarship will be given each year in perpetuity to an Orange County high school senior that excels in community service and will attend the University of Texas as a freshman.

Clark is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and a past president of Orange County Texas Exes. His undergraduate studies were at Lamar State College of Technology, and is was formerly a judge advocate general with the Army. Prior to his current bench, Clark served as judge of the county court at law in Orange County, and as president of many local boards including for Camp Fire, the Orange County Credit Union, St. Mary School Foundation and the Parish Council.

Clark, an avid baseball fan, said he was “humbled and honored” by the surprise scholarship announcement. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Judicial Section and is active with his wife, Rosalie, in Orange’s St. Mary Catholic Church.

Clark and his wife recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, and have three children and seven grandchildren.
