The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Chelsea Mires of Community Christian School is our April, Student of the Month. Chelsea is a Senor who will be graduating this year with a Distinguished Diploma and a 4.0 GPA.

Mires received glowing recommendations from her teachers. “Chelsea is an amazingly bright and intelligent student. She is the first student in my class always, with book opened, notebook ready, and eager to learn.” Gerald Langham, her Physics Teacher commented.

She is the daughter of Gene and Felicia Mires who are very proud of their daughter and all of her outstanding accomplishments. She has been a US Presidential Award Recipient for her 8th, 10th, and 11th grade years. She has received the Principal’s Award in 8th-11th grade. In the ASCI Math competition she received Second Place at Region in Algebra II, First Place at Region in Geometry, Third Place at District in Geometry and First Place at District in Pre-Calculus.

Mires has been heavily involved with her school as well as the community. She has tutored her fellow students, been a Yearbook Editor and Photographer, played varsity tennis, and been on the Chapel and Homecoming Committee.

Chelsea plans to attend LeTourneau University in the fall. She desires to get both a bachelor’s and master’s degree so that she can counsel young girls who have experienced trauma.
