Hometown News For Orange County, Texas

Tuffy’s under new management

Local business men, David Claybar (Old Orange Café and Catering Company) and Shane Johns (Mann Insurance Agency) have saved a Mauriceville restaurant. Tuffy’s Eatery was scheduled to close its doors on Sunday, June 27; instead, the landmark restaurant will continue to serve the people of Southeast Texas for decades to come. Normal operation resumed Thursday, July 1.

Updates and additions to the menu were unveiled at the Grand Opening Celebration that was held on Tuesday, Aug. 3. The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce joined the owners, staff, friends, and supporters for a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark this occasion.

New additions have been added to the menu by Chef Claybar, but they opted to keep many of the old favorites. You will still find their extra large spuds, mile-high meringue pies, and their delicious rolls.

Some things haven’t changed...Tuffy’s still loves to cater your events. Their three private-dining rooms are ideal for business meetings, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries and birthdays. They can accommodate groups from 10 to 125. Whether you hold your event at their venue or yours, Tuffy’s is experienced in catering events both large and small.

Tuffy’s Eatery is located at 11261 Highway 12, Mauriceville. For additional information, call 409-745-3170 or visit their website at Tuffys-Eatery.com.
