Lyndon H. Robinson, Sr., 94, of Orange, died Tuesday, Sept. 14 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 17 at First United Methodist Church in Orange with the Rev. Tom Stephenson and Reverend Toney Miller officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bride City.

Born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on January 22, 1916, Lyndon was the son of Stella Cathryn Parks and Perry Robinson. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1939, a member of the Orange Community Band, a lifelong choir member, and a licensed pilot. Lyndon was also a professional engineer and worked at DuPont for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul E. Robinson; and brother, Parks Robinson.

Lyndon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia Downs Robinson; son, Lyndon Robinson, Jr. and his wife, Minnie of Redlands, California; and daughter, Carol Jane Allen and her husband, Jimmie of Orange.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Debra Pyle, Nancy Divine, Matthew Allen and Stephen Allen, Sr.; great-grandchildren, Stephen Allen, Jr., Caitlin Allen, John Allen, Joey Allen and Josh Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephen Allen, Sr., Stephen Allen, Jr., Matthew Allen, John Allen, Jim Brown and Don Grooms served as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 502 North 6th Street, Orange, Texas 77630.
