Free teeth sealant for kids

Lamar Institute of Technology Dental Hygiene program and the Sabine Dental Hygienists’ Association will have a free children’s sealant clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the dental hygiene clinic on the campus of LIT.

Sealants are applied to children’s teeth in an attempt to discourage plaque from settling on the surface of the teeth and causing cavities.

Area dental hygienists and students in the LIT Dental Hygiene program will be applying the sealants.

Parents wishing to bring their children to the clinic should call (409) 880-8860 to make an appointment. An appointment is necessary.
