Scarecrow Festival returns to Shangri La

Time is running out to enter your family, business, church, school or organization in the Second Annual Scarecrow Festival at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. October 15 is the last day to register an entry for the Scarecrow Festival. Don’t miss your chance to dress up a scarecrow to represent you or your organization at Shangri La’s Scarecrow Festival from October 26 to November 27, 2010.

“It’s a fun time for businesses, schools, organizations and even families to express themselves in a creative way with their scarecrow design. We encourage everyone to reuse or recycle materials for their design, but the imagination is the limit to what can be created,” said Michael Hoke, Director of Shangri La.

There is no fee to enter a scarecrow into the event, and applications are available at several locations, including the Orange Public Library, the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau, and online at www.shangrilagardens.org.
