William Walter Carlton, 83, of Orange passed away on Tuesday, November 30, at his residence.visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Dorman Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service held at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
He was a native of Anderson, Texas; born on February 20, 1927 to parents Melton Cleveland Carlton and Gladys Bailey. He had lived the last 30 years in Orange and worked with the Local Carpenter Union, retiring from DuPont in 1985. He served his country in the Marine Crops during Korean War. He loved the outdoors; going fishing, hunting and long walks in nature. “Pops” and “Popeye” are some of the names he was known as around town, he was a loving and caring man who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Donnie Carlton.
He is survivor by his daughters, Shirley Carlton Manuel and husband Thomas, Margie Carlton Prather and husband James, Monica Carlton Player and husband Carl all of Alexandria, LA, Stephanie Coutee and husband Tracy of Pineville, LA, Shonna M. Vilo and husband David of Glenmora, LA; sons, Roy Anthony Carlton of Alexandria, LA, Teddy James Carlton of Orange; sisters, Mildred Hamilton of Magnolia, TX; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one on the way.
