Business of the Month an Oasis

Oasis Coffee House and Cafe was named as Bridge City's Business of the Month. “It is our goal to offer you a retreat; a place to rest and re-charge with food and drink,” says their Web site.

Doug Ballard opened Oasis just a few short months ago, “as a way to come home.” Ballard had been working in Louisiana for the last decade and was ready to spend more time with his family.

“Oasis has brought some great ideas to Bridge City. They offer a different kind of hang out for the whole family and a meeting place for churches, groups and parties,” said the nomination. “They support the community by providing a place for local artists to display their work and for musicians to perform in front of an audience.”

It has become the newest night time ‘hot spot’ in Bridge City. The parking lot is full on Saturday night when there is a variety of musical entertainment. Tuesday and Thursday are ‘open mic’ nights for anyone who would like to perform.

“Oasis also promotes other local businesses such as The Cupcake Lady, who sells baked goods inside the cafe; Trendz!, who decorated the cafe for Christmas. They provided a location for the Vendor Blender and for art classes. Oasis has so much to offer. Other local businesses should take note of how we can all work together to help grow Bridge City,” stated the nomination.

“We offer a diverse menu, starting with breakfast at 5 a.m., lunch items, salads, wraps and sandwiches and desserts offered all day long,” says the Web site: http://www.coffeehousebridgecity.com

They offer a full menu of coffee and teas, served both hot and iced. Hot chocolate, lemonade and fruit smoothies are also available.

Stop by at 1055 Texas Ave. or call (409)792-0089 to make arrangements for wedding rehearsal dinners, receptions, graduation parties, birthdays and anniversaries in their party room; book early.
