Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
On Tuesday, Dec. 14, Pinehurst Police Chief Fred R. Hanauer III, observed a vehicle traveling East on Highway 12 near Breckinwood Drive in Mauriceville. The vehicle, a Green Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, matched the description given of a vehicle believed to belong to a person of interest in at least two burglaries in Pinehurst.
After observing several traffic offenses, Chief Hanauer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Chadwick Alan McMillen, a 23 year-old male with an Orange address. McMillen was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant for Burglary and transported to the Pinehurst Police Department for questioning. The vehicle was seized and towed to the Pinehurst Police Department for inventory.
A subsequent interview of McMillen by Lieutenant Keith Reneau led to the confession of two burglaries in Pinehurst and another burglary of a building in Orange County. The inventory of McMillen’s vehicle yielded a handgun that was confirmed as one being stolen from the Robert’s Restaurant burglary on Sunday, Dec. 12, and a small amount of U.S. currency. Clothing seen worn by the suspect in surveillance video was also located within the vehicle.
A passenger in the vehicle, Cody Daron Stimits was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia but was not arrested for medical reasons. He was transported to Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital-Orange by Acadian Ambulance. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department assisted Hanauer following the traffic stop.
