Sharon K. Melancon, 67, passed away on Monday, December 13, at her residence.
She was a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; born on September 11, 1943 to parents Ogle Jobes and Margaret (Richardson) Jobes. She was a life long resident of Orange and Deweyville. She loved to go horse back riding, fishing, working in her flower garden. She had owned Elsie M Grocery Store on Highway 87 for 10 years; also loved to watch old movies and never met a stranger she did not like. She was a loving person, who enjoyed spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donate Melancon.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hryorchuk; children, Donna, James, Carl Sr., Mark, Russell and Tonya Melancon; step-son, Michael Reed; grandchildren, Haley Goldwire, Carl Jr., Shay, Kristi, Lacy, Katy, and Bailey Melancon and Justin, Stetson and Dillon Hryhorchuk; great grandchildren; Tyler, Trey, and Jazlyn Kay Melancon; sister, Charmaine Runnels of Orange; brother, Harold Jobes of Okalahoma.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 10 am until 1 pm at Dorman Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service at 1 pm at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. David Berkheimer of Community Church.
