WOS jounalist 'scoop' competition

The West Orange Stark High School Journalism team won the small school division at the Hamshire-Fannett UIL Academic Meet this past weekend.

Karli Flurry and Kylie Hughes earned first and second place, respectively in Editorial Writing.

Casey Chapman placed third in Feature Writing and fourth in headline writing. Miranda Miller placed third in Headline Writing.

Jordan Darnall placed 5th in News Writing. Alex Jenkins and Holly Darnall also competed as part of the WO-S team.

The West Orange Stark Journalism team accrued 61 points to win first place honors.

Their closest competitor, the second place team, accrued 37 points.
