50th Wedding Anniversary

Jim and Lou Givens celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine in December with their children and grandchildren.

Married on Jan. 28, 1961 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, they have lived in Orange for 40 years.

Jim is a 1961 graduate of Louisiana State University, where he played on the 1958 National Championship Football team. He was a Chemical Engineer and retired from PrintPack, Inc in 2006 after 45 years of service.

Lou attended Mississippi State University and Lamar University. She retired from real estate in 2010 after 35 years of service.

They are members of North Orange Baptist Church.

Their children and grandchildren are Jay (son), Lucy, Christian, and Isaac of Frederick, Okla.; Jill (daughter), Todd, Seth and Grace Langston of Lumberton; and Joy (daughter), Trey, and Levi Assunto of Lumberton.
