Memorial Hermann’s Partners in Education Program honored Community Christian School this month.
About 60 students spent time at the hospital doing crafts and delivering them to patients and staff. They also learned what nurses and doctors do, and were taught about good health habits.
Pizza, cookies, and Capri Suns were on the menu for lunch. At the close of the tour they were each given a train whistle as a gift.
Throughout the school year representatives of the hospital and the Partners in Education Program spoke to the elementary students during their chapel. The first week, Jarren Garrett, Chief Administrative Officer, came and spoke on leadership.
Brother Kevin Trinkle, chaplain of Baptist Hospital spoke several times during elementary chapels. He chose to teach the students to have good character qualities, such as honor, thankfulness, and love.
